The North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association Foundation is proud to offer a certified apprenticeship program launched in partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and ApprenticeshipNC to help North Carolina restaurants and hotels expand their teams and retain valuable employees.
Registered restaurant apprenticeships provide skills-based, earn-while-you-learn training that’s free to both participants and employers, and approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. The program currently supports apprenticeships for Certified Line Cook, Certified Assistant Kitchen Manager, Certified Kitchen Manager, Certified Assistant Restaurant Manager and Certified Restaurant Manager, open to candidates who are at least 17 years old.
Employers
Restaurant and hotel operators can onboard new employees or designate current employees as apprentices. Apprenticeship helps employers develop talent, increase retention, and build leadership from within. Nationally, the retention rate for apprentices is 80%!
The NCRLA Foundation is actively partnering with restaurants, hotels, and foodservice employers across the state to expand apprenticeship opportunities.
If you are a North Carolina operator and would like to learn more about becoming an approved training facility for apprentices—and to be first in line for future funding support—please complete the form below.
