Press Release · February 10, 2016

NCRLA partners with Class Action Capital

February 3, 2016, Raleigh, NC – The North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA), is excited to announce that we have partnered with Class Action Capital, a market leader in class action settlement claim management.

Class Action Capital is already successfully working with a large number of restaurants and hotels across the country helping to recover substantial refunds on their behalf from three recent class action settlements totaling approximately $6billion. We are excited to now offer their value add services to our members.

The first two settlement opportunities pertain to price fixing by the major manufacturers of computer monitors and TVs, as well as flexible foam products such as mattresses, pillows and carpet underlay, all of which hotels purchase in abundance.

The third settlement alleges that Visa and MasterCard violated the law by setting interchange fees (charged to businesses every time a customer pays with a Visa or MasterCard) and then made and enforced rules that prohibited merchants from steering customers to other payment methods, resulting in restaurants and hotels paying excessive fees to accept payment from Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards.

All of these settlements are highly relevant to the hospitality industry and Class Action Capital has already identified many of the NCRLA members as very likely being eligible to recover substantial refunds. Please keep in mind that you would not be entering into a lawsuit, but would be submitting a claim to recover your hotel or restaurant’s pro rata share of the settlement funds which have already been set aside into an escrow account.

“We are proud to be working with NCRLA,” said JJ Thomas, CEO of Class Action Capital. “We look forward to educating their membership about these opportunities to receive potentially sizable refunds on past product purchases and, for those interested, offer our claims management service that allows members to recover their pro rata refund with minimal investment of internal time and resources.”

NCRLA WEBINAR:

NCRLA will host a webinar with Class Action Capital on February 17th, 2016 at 11am EST to introduce these three refund opportunities to NCRLA members. On the webinar, Class Action Capital will share the most important points of the settlement opportunities, explain the claims process and also answer any questions. You can register for the webinar here.

More information on Class Action Capital, the settlement opportunities and instructions on how to file a claim can be found here.
