Past event

  • When November 15, 2017, 3 – 5 pm
  • Hosted by Amy Berenson

Mark your calendars for the next meeting of the Asheville Lodging Association. On Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., ALA will host a combined meeting with the Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association. During this important meeting, we will focus on the growing short-term rental market in Buncombe County and discuss strategies for holding public policymakers accountable for leveling the playing field with these new lodging businesses.

Special guest presenters include:

Troy Flanagan, vice president of state and local government affairs for the American Hotel & Lodging Association, will talk about ordinances relating to short-term rentals that have been adopted in other cities across the country and key issues to consider.

Stephanie Pace Brown, executive director of Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau, will share new research about the current lodging mix in Buncombe County and the significant local growth in short-term rentals.

Open to members only.
