Tickets are now on sale for NCRLA’s Chef Showdown, presented by Got to be NC Agriculture. This is THE can’t-miss culinary competition of the year. Savory chefs, pastry chefs, distilleries and their mixologists from across the state will compete for the coveted titles of NCRLA Chef of the Year, NCRLA Pastry Chef of the Year and NCRLA Mixologist of the Year.
Due to overwhelming interest, NCRLA is introducing regional semi-final rounds leading up to the main event. The 21 highest-rated chef and pastry chef competitors from the regionals will move forward to compete in the final competition Aug. 27, at Aria at Founders Hall in the Bank of America Center in Uptown Charlotte, from 5:30 – 9 p.m. The NCRLA Chef Showdown concludes the first day of the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Expo.
Back by popular demand, the final competition will feature six North Carolina distilleries partnered with top-shelf mixologists to stir up excitement and compete for the NCRLA Mixologist of the Year award.
Competitors will be judged on the presentation and taste of their dish or drink, creativity and the best use of North Carolina ingredients. Professional judges will determine the NCRLA Chef of the Year, NCRLA Pastry Chef of the Year and NCRLA Mixologist of the Year, while attendees will select the People’s Choice Award recipients and more!
Tickets include food and drink tastings from 21 chefs and 10 beverage vendors—including North Carolina distilleries, wineries and breweries—and are $125 per person. For a complete list of chefs, click here.
