NC HEF Fall Educator Workshop

September 24-25, 2017

 

This fall, the NC Hospitality Education Foundation (NC HEF) is coordinating a professional development opportunity with the Appalachian State University School of Hospitality for all NC ProStart, culinary arts, and hospitality teachers.  This two day workshop will include a reception at one of the high country breweries, tour of a local country club back of the house operations, and workshops on the ASU campus related to foodservice trends such as sustainability, public assembly venues, emerging technologies, and farm-to-table concepts. (Specific agenda will be finalized by July 1.)

 

Who can attend: All North Carolina educators of ProStart, culinary arts, and hospitality are encouraged to attend. 

 

Where: ASU School of Hospitality, 287 River St., Boone, NC 28608. Sunday evening reception and Monday afternoon site visit will be at local venues. Directions provided closer to the event.

 

When: Begins Sunday, September 24 at 5pm, concludes Monday September 25 at 6pm.

 

Credits:  CEUs will be awarded for attendance.  After the agenda is finalized, DPI will approve the amount of CEUs to be awarded for the workshop.

 

Cost: 175.00 per person.  Registration covers reception on Sunday, breakfast and lunch on Monday and all instructional materials.

Dress Code:  Sunday and Monday-business casual.  (There will be no cooking/hands on portion during the training session so culinary uniform is not necessary.)
